Patterns

Scarecrow have developed a number of enabling patterns to aid in MBSE. Full details of how to develop your own patterns and how to use patterns, including the ones below, to help in the development of Architectural Frameworks can be found in our new book ‘Foundations for Model-based Systems Engineering: From Patterns to Models'.

Sparx EA Base Models

The following Sparx EA base model contains the MBSE Ontology and ACRE and 'seven views' Frameworks described in our book 'SysML for Systems Engineering: 2nd edition: A model-based approach' . In addition, it contains a number of utility scripts that demonstrate the power of EA's scripting API and the extensibility of the tool. The model uses version 1.3 of the SysML add-in. The model is supplied as a ZIP file.

Sparx EA MDG Profiles

The following MDG Profiles have been produced for use with the Sparx EA modelling tool. They assume that the tool is being used with at least version 1.3 of the SysML add-in loaded into EA.

The currently available MDG Profiles implement the ACRE, "seven views" and FAF frameworks as described in our book 'SysML for Systems Engineering: 2nd edition: A model-based approach'  and the Evidence Pattern as described in the presentation available above and in our book ‘Foundations for Model-based Systems Engineering: From Patterns to Models'. All are supplied as ZIP files.
